There are images that don’t leave you alone, they seem to haunt you till you are able to take them out in someway, to me it is through photography.
Back in October 2025, I came across a photograph of a statue, I am pretty sure it was AI but it was powerful. It stayed with me and since then, I knew I wanted to build something around that feeling, to translate it into my own visual language.
This shoot, created in January, is the result of that slow process.
It wasn’t immediate. It took time to gather the right elements. I needed a studio that could hold the atmosphere I had in mind. I needed a sword and angel wings that didn’t feel decorative, but almost like a weight. And most importantly, I needed the right person to bring it all together.
Victoria was that person.
We met in 2025, and although I don’t usually enjoy repeating collaborations, she’s one of the few exceptions. There’s something about her presence and professionalism that makes the process feel fluid. But more than that, she doesn’t just pose. She performs and understands how to inhabit an idea instead of just illustrating it.
As usual, she sourced part of the wardrobe herself and actively contributed to the styling. That level of involvement changes everything. It stops being “my shoot” and becomes something shared, a thing that I usually like because it’s a joint creation.
And this feels, honestly, like one of my strongest works so far.
There’s a tension in these images that I didn’t fully plan, but I recognize now. A balance between strength and fragility, between control and surrender. The sword, the wings, the body…
Looking back, I realize this shoot wasn’t just about recreating an inspiration from months ago. It was about patience. About trusting that an idea can evolve quietly until the right conditions appear.
And when they do, everything aligns.
