For this photoshoot, there wasn’t much planning involved. It kind of came together spontaneously after listening to This Picture by Placebo on repeat and watching the video a couple of times.
I knew exactly what I wanted to do, and I didn’t overcomplicate things. The setup was simple, inspired by the model in the video who has lost her identity due to a toxic relationship. I have to admit, I was heavily influenced by the visuals.
I only produced a couple of photos, but I’m pretty content with how they turned out.
My favorite part of the song is the opening lines by Brian Molko:
“I hold an image of the ashtray girl
Of cigarettes burns on my chest.
I wrote a poem that described her world
And put our friendship to the test.
And late at night once on all fours
She used to watch me kiss the floor.
What’s wrong with this picture?
What’s wrong with this picture?”
Enjoy the photos.
